Assistant Professor, Operations Management (Subject to Budgetary Approval)

The Management and Marketing Department of Southern Illinois University Edwardsville's School of Business seeks applicants for a tenure-eligible faculty position in the operations management area at the rank of Assistant Professor starting in August 2021. The candidate's responsibilities will include developing and teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in supply chain management, operations management, supply chain analytics, process analysis, and other related areas. Successful candidates for the position will have strong research engagement and/or publications record in the supply chain management and related disciplines. Candidates for this position should embrace the Teacher-Scholar model and will be expected to be student-centered, demonstrate a commitment to promoting experiential learning, and embrace online and blended education models. SIUE is committed to the creation and dissemination of knowledge and as such, candidates must be prepared to pursue externally sponsored research and creative activities, engage in interdisciplinary collaboration, and to guide students in scholarly activities when possible. The Management and Marketing Department houses a diverse set of disciplines - general management, organizational behavior, human resources, strategy, entrepreneurship, supply chain/operations management, marketing, and market research. The Department also has a diverse faculty, with about 50% female full-time members, and includes members from the US, India, China, and South Korea. Candidates who are close to completing their doctoral degree in supply chain management, logistics, sourcing, purchasing and supply management, or related areas are encouraged to apply. Applicants must hold a PhD, or be ABD nearing completion, in supply chain management, logistics, operations management, or a related area. Preference will be given to graduates of AACSB-accredited institutions and candidates qualified as Scholarly Academic by AACSB standards. |
