The Director of Materials, Logistics and Customer Care, Asia Pacific is responsible for leading customer order fulfillment through an efficient warehousing and logistics network, ensuring efficient working capital optimization while delivering a simplified customer experience. The role will cover the functional areas of logistics (distribution center management, regional and global logistics co-ordination), materials (demand and supply planning for the region across 6 distribution centers, materials planning for 3 manufacturing plants and 35+ authorized distributors), trade compliance (ensure compliance with all export import regulations) and customer care (drive a consistent and simplified customer experience throughout a customer selling lifecycle).
This position will also provide thought leadership, execution and support for our Supply Chain roadmap covering strategic initiatives in all functional areas.
Key Responsibilities
  • Logistics :
    • Management of all distribution centers in AP with major facilities located in Shanghai, Singapore and Delhi including metrics, spend management and supplier relationships
    • Drive improved and reliable on-time delivery of finished goods, spare parts to distributors and end-customers across Asia Pacific (includes Indian sub-continent, South East Asia, North Asia (China, Korea, HK, Taiwan and Japan), Pacific Rim (AU, NZL)
    • This role is an integral part of the global logistics leadership and an active participant / decision maker in shaping / evolving strategic framework and global network optimization efforts
  • Trade Compliance :
    • Lead all trade compliance activities ensuring adherence to all import export regulations enabling smoother compliant trade
    • Identify, enable and support cost optimization efforts in this area around FTAs, ITA etc
  • Materials :
    • Responsible for maintaining targeted inventory-turns in all DCs and manufacturing plants across AP
    • Inclusive of this is also demand and supply planning across all selling locations in AP
    • Efficient working capital initiatives also includes implementing connectivity with distributors for better visibility and decision making
  • Customer Care :
    • Lead all customer interaction activities from pre-sales to post-sales stages of selling lifecycle ensuring a consistent and simplified customer experience
  • Leadership :
    • Build, mentor and develop a high performing team (staff strength of 175+)
    • Actively manage key stakeholders in global supply chain, regional sales & marketing, country leadership positions and distributor leadership across the region
    • Ability to co-manage and lead major global strategic initiatives in all functional areas with peers in other continents
    • Actively partner with front end channels (i.e. distributors and end-customers) to identify initiatives that deliver differentiation in the marketplace
    • Drive productivity through process efficiency, global collaboration on tools (technology), effective use of free trade agreement programs, international and domestic freight, network optimization and driving the best cost country models for selective functional areas.
