Warehouse Manager-Refinish (2002910) - Buena Park, CA

Where the Chemistry Happens

We are seeking a professional like you to serve as Warehouse Manager at our Buena Park, California site with direct responsibility for coaching and developing a team of professionals responsible for customer order picking/handling, waste management, site security, transportation planning/scheduling and warehousing. As a key leader within the Coatings Supply Chain Organization, we rely on you to ensure that materials and products are available when needed to satisfy customer requirements.

Formula for Success

• Leveraging your education and experience in Supply Chain / Logistics or a related field, combined with your supervisory/management experience , you will coach and develop warehouse staff within the Coatings (ECN) business unit.
• Your unwavering commitment to workplace safety, paired with your knowledge and training in DOT and IATA regulations, will be evident as you serve to ensure compliance with relevant requirements for the shipping and receiving of hazardous materials.
• Demonstrating a thorough knowledge of warehousing practices, you will be responsible for managing the site, transportation and inventory management to ensure the seamless flow of inbound and outbound finished products.
• Using your strong organizational skills and attention to detail, you will maintain accurate inventory for the warehouse.
• Utilizing your experience in a warehouse environment, you will ensure resources and tools are available for employees to safely complete their job tasks. Additionally, you will ensure department SOP's are defined and employees adhere to EHS and departmental standard operating procedures.
• Leveraging your strong business acumen, you will perform budget analysis and cost tracking to identify areas for service improvements and cost optimization/reduction. Additionally, you will develop, monitor, and work to improve Warehouse Performance KPIs, with emphasis on LISC / Customer on-time-delivery requirements.
• Your strong written and verbal communication skills will serve you well as you prepare for and represent BASF Coatings in audits related to shipping and receiving. You will also use these skills to interact with internal and external customers in a helpful and friendly manner and to understand customer needs.
• Your strong knowledge of Supply Chain Management and Warehousing concepts is essential as you will identify and implement improvements in site policies, processes, and procedures to ensure end-to-end accountability.
• Your strong skills relative to project coordination, time management, multi-tasking, and delivering on commitments is critical to this role. Although not required, certification by the American Production and Inventory Control Society is highly desired.
• Your proficiency in SAP, Microsoft Office, and other information systems will be essential as you support order to cash (OTC) activities, such as printing labels, executing shipments in SAP, producing shipment documentation for third party warehouses, tracking shipments, confirming delivery and working with the customer care, logistics, or regulatory team to address any problems.
• Using LEAN / Six Sigma principles, you will continually improve processes and look for digitalization opportunities.
• Working successfully as part of the Coatings Supply Chain team, you will assist other warehouses, attend meetings, and participate in conference calls and cross functional projects, as needed.
