Finance Director

We are hiring a Director of Finance.  In this role, you will lead the Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) function for Land O’Lakes $12 billion Supply Chain spanning sourcing and risk management, manufacturing, and logistics.  This platform includes a company-wide portfolio across the Dairy Foods, Feed, and WinField United business units comprised of 80+ manufacturing facilities, 100+ leased and company-owned warehousing locations and distribution centers, and $10+ billion in raw material, ingredient and packaging spend.

The key purpose of this role is to partner with the SVP and Chief Supply Chain Leader and supporting leadership team, as well as cross-functional finance partners in the business units, to provide insights on the financial performance of the platform, effectively manage cost reduction programs, and to provide a financial perspective supporting the rationale of investment decisions.  The position leads a finance team of 5 direct reports and over 40 indirect professionals both at headquarters and in field sites to ensures financial planning (short-term and long-term), forecasting, and performance analysis is provided proactively to the Supply Chain leadership and business unit teams.

Your primary responsibilities include:

• Lead an efficient and effective planning and forecasting process for Supply Chain operations. Engage business partners to ensure planning assumptions are supported and deliverables are completed on time.

• Deliver value-added analysis and provide meaningful financial and operational reporting that leads to superior business decisions.

• Mentor staff and provide development opportunities to enhance capabilities and allow team members to accomplish goals and objectives.

• Prepare monthly reporting packages that includes financial performance summaries, operational insights into key business trends, actual versus budget variances, and insightful executive-level explanations of differences.

• Provide financial modeling, analysis and valuation support for acquisitions, network optimization and operational investment decisions, long-term contracts and other ad-hoc financial projects.

• Assist in preparing analysis, commentary, and presentation material for the monthly and quarterly financial review meetings.

• Actively own key finance and business processes. Provide a high level of thought process to drive improvement; recommend areas for improvement and lead projects to enhance the reporting and analytical infrastructure.

• Maintain strong relationships with the Corporate finance team and ensure quality deliverables and proper information flow.

• Ensure financial controls and policies are enforced across the portfolio.
