The Equipment Buyer supports the supply chain for the Zaxby’s system with a primary focus on smallwares.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Essential duties may include but are not limited to the following:

  • Assist department in developing and implementing purchasing strategies for products
  • Provide market analysis and cost forecasts for the assigned items and be accountable for meeting or exceeding budgeting costs
  • Track purchasing activity and measurements
  • Evaluate and coordinate product consolidation
  • Coordinate implementation of products with distribution network
  • Build, develop, and manage ongoing relationship with key suppliers and customers
  • Gather and monitor historical cost and pricing information relevant to ZFL products
  • Evaluate market conditions in order to maintain inventory levels and control costs
  • Recognize and communicate supply availability or issues as they occur and or anticipate fluctuation in demand, weather and market strategy
  • Evaluate and recommend vendors and participate in the vendor approval process.
  • Research, analyze, and recommend new sources of supply
  • Develop and maintain positive relationship with Licensees, ZFL, and Operations by becoming a knowledgeable, service oriented, responsive purchasing resource for the brand

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Extensive capabilities to perform research and strategic thinking
  • Restaurant, poultry and food industry knowledge and experience
  • Ability to communicate effectively both in written and verbal forms with tact, patience and courtesy
  • Strong accountability; follow through and deliver results
  • Recognize and reinforce integrity and ethics; value and respect others
  • Open-minded and creative to provide new suggestions and proposals
  • Must have to ability to:
    • Operate a computer work station and MS Office programs
    • Meet schedules and timelines
    • Work independently and confidentially; proactive and self-motivated
    • Work in a fast-paced environment and capable of multi-tasking
    • Deal with multiple priorities with strong follow through skills
    • Work well with all team members within the organization to achieve positive results
    • Complete work with many interruptions

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE GUIDELINES

Education:           Bachelor’s degree in Management or related field preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Experience:        2-3 years of experience in purchasing or equivalent position
