Our Materials Management AVP leads a team of engaged caregivers to provide the best possible experience for our customers and supplier stakeholders. This position is responsible for creating and implementing the strategies to effectively manage material management and distribution services throughout Intermountain Healthcare. These responsibilities include managing the inventory, distribution and logistics functions across all facilities within the company and the Supply Chain Fulfillment Center. This position develops the vision and operational initiatives regarding the people, structure, processes, communications and technology to ensure that materials management efforts deliver significant financial, quality and service results to Intermountain Healthcare. This position is required to develop and maintain key relationships with senior-level organization leaders specifically CFOs, Vice-Presidents, Hospital Administrators, Physicians / Clinicians, Medical Group leadership, Select Health leadership and many other clinical and non-clinical program directors and leaders. This position utilizes lean principles to develop process improvement through all areas of responsibility. This position works with other hospital organizations to identify best practices and to determine where logistical efficiencies can be beneficial and partners with other Supply Chain Organization leadership to accomplish assigned duties.
Master’s degree from an accredited institution in Supply Chain, Healthcare, or Business (Education will be verified).
Experience leading large-scale material management teams (100+ caregivers) and operating distribution/warehousing functions (inventory control, warehouse management systems, transportation)
Mastery of operationalizing and coaching large teams, establishing operating model structures, standardizing processes, facilitating transformational change management, and communications
Proven decision-making, communication, and leadership skills
Ability and drive work towards best in class processes to deliver significant financial, quality, and service results
Demonstrated ability to develop professional growth, education and career path programs for front line staff and mid-level managers.
Capability in motivating a team, public speaking, leveraging data, and adoption of technology
Equivalent work experience in management may substitute degree requirement
10 years of executive leadership, managing other mangers, is highly preferred
Extensive knowledge of healthcare supply chain, product, service, software, and equipment knowledge, is highly preferred
