Reporting to the CFO, this individual with have experience working with a small to mid-sized manufacturer where high energy, roll-up your sleeves/hands-on management style is the norm.
Responsible for managing purchasing, inventory control, warehousing and shipping/receiving teams (+/- 15 team members). Implements methods, practices and techniques to ensure the most economical movement of materials through the supply chain to achieve cost effective logistics and inventory levels.
Manages raw material inventory to meet plant objectives, to avoid downtime, optimizing reporting accuracy of raw materials and preventing financial losses during annual physical inventory.
Identifies and implements cost reduction opportunities by reviewing supplier capabilities, material options and processing requirements in order to meet and/or exceed cost reduction initiatives.
Negotiates pricing, terms and conditions of purchase/contract, as well as warranties of goods and products
Bachelors degree from an accredited college/university, MBA preferred.
15+ yrs experience in purchasing, sourcing and inventory control with extensive experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
Minimum of 5 yrs in a mid-sized manufacturer of smallish division of a larger organization, preferably in plastics.
Hands-on manager who enjoys being part of a team environment, and a history of leadership while building strong interpersonal relationships.
History of building and maintaining solid relationships with US and overseas suppliers, global sourcing experience preferred.
