The Buyer II is responsible for buying raw materials and / or finished goods for assigned production lines or Strategic Business Unit. The buyer is responsible to follow LINAK’s Production System (LPS) including the LPS Buying manual and all other supporting documents when managing their buy and assigned suppliers.

Major Responsibilities based on assigned vendors:

• Adhering to LINAK’s internal processes and procedures based on the LPS and LPS Buying Manual.
• Monitor and take action to achieve required KPI goals.
• Review and act on the following reports daily

o Planned Purchase Orders Including Forecast and Actual MRP
o Action Items to expedite or delay orders
o Critical on hand inventory report
o Unconfirmed orders
o Late shipment report

• Review Inventory Turns report monthly and take action to meet goals.
• Review ATP not approved orders daily and update sales orders and CSA
• Process purchase orders as needed.
• Process purchase orders for Kan Ban items.
• Ensure on-time delivery of purchased goods from vendors.
• Review and act on back order report.
• Expedite raw materials as needed to meet production deadlines.
• Ensure on-time delivery based on customer confirmation dates, at the lowest cost possible, with minimal air freight.
• Communicate shortages/delays of raw materials with appropriate planners and CSA.
• Analyze and confirm supplier forecast and Communicate updated forecast with suppliers monthly.
• Update trade agreements on purchase orders and in item maintenance.
• Quarterly, review safety stock levels to minimize inventory levels without jeopardizing production.
• Monthly, review dead/slow moving inventory to minimize write offs.
• Monthly, review inventory levels and report status to goal at meeting as scheduled by Director, Customer Program Management.
• Process ECNs as needed.
• Responsible for Axapta item table for assigned part numbers including all maintenance in regard to lead time, trade agreements, box quantities, etc.
• Use Axapta reports to minimize shortages and air freight.
• Participate in assigned PDP projects, department projects, continuous improvement projects, etc
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Multi-tasking, organizational skills and attention to details are necessary. This position requires a self- starter with the ability to take initiative for implementing all phases of a project.
• Ability to manage assigned suppliers to ensure KPIs are met and to ensure KPIs are met and they are following LPS principles.
• Ability to negotiate with suppliers when expediting to minimize excessive costs including air freight.
