The Supply Chain & Network Operations Offering is seeking a Supply Chain Category Lead who can help clients achieve their goals/objectives.
Work you'll do
â¢ Category Lead is responsible for managing one or more subcategories. He or she is responsible for mastering their respective supply markets, to know key market vendors, and market trends affecting the government's cost and access to the supply markets.
â¢ Reports to the Category Manager, leads Category Analysts, and is responsible for managing sourcing and vendor management processes such as supplier relationship management.
â¢ Evaluates category-specific internal product and service acquisition processes and spending patterns across all Metro programs, evaluates category-specific material and service specifications, and validates the existing supply base (e.g. request vendors provide their intent to bid before RFP is released).
â¢ Develops a category specific sourcing strategy and acquisition plan (i.e. Plan of Contracts), and develops the RFP package including the Statement of Work, Technical/ Price Evaluation Plan, and Quality Assurance Surveillance Plan.
â¢ Develops negotiation tactics for each supplier, and conducts discussions with vendor to adjust pricing or terms and conditions of vendor's proposal to obtain a more favorable deal for the Authority (which may include requests for Best And Final Offer).
â¢ After award, assesses overall usage of the contract across programs and tracks volume of purchasing, ensuring pricing and discount terms are met.
â¢ Develops and refines the benefits tracking strategy, and documents lessons learned for insight into future procurements.
â¢ Classifies vendors as strategic, core, or basic, and the Category Manager approves this determination.
â¢ Leverages input from programs and the supplier to develop a Supplier Management Plan, and develops a supplier score card and action item register to track supplier performance.

4+ years of supply chain, logistics, or warehouse management experience
Experience managing a supply chain category
Bachelor's degree required
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
Must be able to obtain and maintain the required clearance for this role
Travel up to 20%
