SUMMARY/SCOPE OF POSITION: The AP Demand and Inventory Planner is responsible for optimizing the balance of inventory in distribution center in line with target customer service levels. Through a thorough understanding of service objectives and inventory performance metrics, he/she needs to proactively review planning parameters and stock level, identify supply gap and work with global planning resource to resolve supply issues relating to all Finished Goods in the distribution center which she/he is responsible for. This position will work very closely with key stakeholders in RA supply chain, especially distributors, customer care, global material planning, suppliers, as well as AP logistics/materials teams. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Be responsible for baseline forecast (0-24 month) review/clean/validation of historical data & internal review with demand planning community/BU/Finance/Manufacturing etc. Develop and delivery of the monthly demand plan to drive weekly execution in the supply chain. Provide input to global planning team in developing inventory strategy Support execution of short term demand forecast process, evaluate risk both on meet customer want and inventory, plan and implement contingency plan to improve material availability. Understand the logic of inventory planning parameters (e.g. strategy group, safety stock, lot-size, etc.) and the impact of change. Work with global planning resources to implement material management strategies in AP. Identify supply gaps through metrics review, propose and implement mitigation plans by working with global planning resources through adjustment on forecasts, planning parameters, released purchase orders, or planned replenishment orders, in order to reduce impact from demand volatility on RA supply chain.Proactively monitor inventory level vs. targets, identify excess and obsolescent inventory, and propose and carry out disposition plans. Seek continuous improvement opportunities in inventory planning process and implement the changes.Lead in updating inventory AOP/quarterly/monthly forecasting and providing causal analysis on discrepancies versus inventory and DOH targetsWork with industrialization planners, and global planning resources in product life cycle management to implement plans for new product launch, product series change, or material phase-out.Understand DMI planning logics. Review distributors' bi-annual return requests and propose acceptance and rejection to management.Drive continuous improvement by regular review of performance indicators such as PA utilization and TOCT.Conduct regular business and performance reviews with global planning resource and demand planners, or other supply chain parties.Conduct weekly service miss causal analysis, identify supply chain issues/variances, and perform corrective actions to avoid reoccurrence. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Business, Engineering, or related field. Strong practical experience in procurement and planning will be required. Direct working experience in SAP ECC environment will be a distinct advantage. Strong analytical capabilities, with a basic understanding of statistical analysis techniques. Understands supply planning logic and rhythm; has previous experience in continuous process improvements.Ability to communicate with people in different function, country or culture, and to establish good and productive working relationships.Strong and independent trouble-shooting skills to investigate and identify causal.APICS certification (CPIM or CSCP) desirableProficiency in English is a must.
