Reporting into the East Asia Director of Operations & Technical service this role will be responsible for the end to end supply chain function within the Hong Kong, Taiwan and ASEAN markets. This role will be expected to set the direction of the supply chain function including customers service / order management teams while building and motivating a strong team to manage the day to day supply chain tasks to support the customers in Hong Kong, Taiwan and ASEAN markets
This role will be a senior leader within the operations function and will be expected to develop and implement strategic improvements in supply forecasting, inventory management and order management. The ideal candidate will be able to work in cross functional teams and be able to influence outcomes and gain the support of key stakeholders in Commercial, Finance and IS.
What will you do?
Build a capable and effective Operations Team in HK, TW and ASEAN
Coach, develop and lead direct reports by providing growth opportunities
Build and maintain exceptional employee engagement throughout the department
Be able to influence the organization to ensure improvements are implemented and work well with other functional demands.
Work with senior leaders within the organization and gain their trust and buy in to new initiatives.
Set the direction & manage all aspects of the Operational function in Hong Kong , Taiwan and ASEAN
Develop and maintain strong partnerships/relationships with key suppliers internal and external.
Actively participate in global/divisional supply update meetings and advocate for the Hong Kong, Taiwan and ASEAN needs
Partner with the East Asia planning team to manage the overall inventory across Hong Kong, Taiwan and ASEAN markets to ensure minimal excess inventory whilst ensuring high levels of service performance. This includes ensuring the team plan purchases strategically and create an inventory plan to achieve full year KPI targets.
Work with the East Asia planning team on the procurement of finished goods from global manufacturers. This includes managing the demand forecasting with our vendors and ensuring the correct inputs are included from the commercial team.
Transforming and setting up an order management team who will be responsible for placing orders, consolidating shipments and managing supply dates with customers and commercial leads.
Develop and lead initiatives that will support the business future growth around supply chain
Partner with the Logistics Manager providers on logistics efficiency projects. Also monitor inbound fright, ensuring the team only expedite when necessary.
Working closely with 3PL providers to ensure the needs of Stryker are being met and robust processes are in place around supplier management
Ensure customer inputs are correctly managed and timing of shipments are within customer expectations
Designing and executing plans to ensure order to shipments process is the most effective possible.
Ensure the team is utilizing the ERP to ensure efficiencies are gained including reporting, EDI links and data inputs.
Complying with all team activities with company, legal, ethical and other standards.
Completing other project and tasks as required.
Work with IS to develop reporting and tracking of key performance metrics for a supply chain function.
Uphold the Compliance Culture and philosophy of the Company & ensure our operations / technical services functions operate in line with our clearly defined quality standards.
What are we looking for?
Tertiary qualification within Business Administration, Business Management or a related field.
APICS or related course certification
Work experience in medical device industry is preferred.
Familiarity with Lean certification i.e. ISO9001 and ISO13485.
Experience managing a team of professionals and operating effectively as part of a team with accountability for business results
Minimum 8 years previous experience in a supply chain environment
Ability to influence a wide range of stakeholders
Proven track record in problem solving and execution
Ability to work closely with key internal and external clients to identify needs and provide updated information
Strong communication, analytical and negotiation skills.
