An opportunity has arisen for a Category Specialist – Real Estate based in Decatur, IL. The main purpose of this role is to develop and execute global category strategies in collaboration with stakeholders and in alignment with global and local sourcing requirements. You will work closely with Business Unit leaders to understand implementation challenges and to develop solutions to increase compliance. In this role, you will assist Business Units to determine and manage requirements by providing insight into alternative real estate options to better serve their needs while maximizing returns to ADM. Much of your time will be spent coordinating project efforts toward successful completion while providing feedback to the relevant ADM stakeholders.
Reporting to the Director of Real Estate, the main duties of this role will include:
Complete real estate projects as assigned while keeping stakeholders informed of progress.
Establish and maintain good business relationships with key Brokers, Business Unit stakeholders, and ADM colleagues to insure most effective and efficient execution of real estate strategies.
Learn and develop optimum utilization of CoStar system for real estate strategic planning and execution.
Establish and evaluate performance metrics for category and own cost saving results.
Compile Broker performance evaluations to make recommendations regarding brokerage usage.
Drive external/marketplace knowledge of the latest RE dynamics, trends, and best practices to drive implementation of continuous improvement opportunities.
Bachelor’s Degree or Real Estate license, or in pursuit of either, or comparable work experience.
At least 5 years business experience with 1 or more years in real estate is desirable.
Strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook is required.
Strong interpersonal skills with ability to engage, communicate, and influence internal and external stakeholders, and to establish trust and credibility with clientele and colleagues. Fluency in other languages is a plus.
Customer Service focus with the top priority being to fulfill needs and exceed expectations of stakeholders.
Strong analytical skills with an interest in developing financial analysis and negotiation skills, as they relate to corporate RE.
Global awareness or interest (culture, currencies, geography, and political).
Experience in negotiation of contracts, and familiarity with commercial terms and contract law is desirable.
Experience in LEAN Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or project management is desirable. Strong project execution is a must.
