The Director of Transportation, directs all activity related to Transportation Management to include Domestic and International Freight.Â Responsibilities include continuous process improvement, diligent management of all costs, compliance with governmental regulations in support of import/export operations, while maintaining compliance with all corporate policies and business directions. It excludes responsibility for TTB legal compliance.Â
Manage the domestic freight to customer budget for all wine and spirits shipments.
Provide strategic alignment with corporate goals to improve service levels, reduce costs, and implement change that will continuously improve overall performance.
Through a process of periodic tendering of the freight requirements for the supported businesses, develop core and niche carriers that result in the creation of transportation routing guides and communicate the results to all needed personnel.Â This can include internal as well as external personnel.
Negotiate contracts and support agreements with carriers and ensure requirements meet all legal department needs.
Provide coaching, mentoring, and support in the development of team members.
Demonstrated experience in managing all aspects of the transportation process and people to include excellent written and oral communication skills, organizational and project management skills.
Formulates policies, procedures, and programs for the assigned transportation network to include import and export trade compliance.
Direct/manage/implement performance measures for carriers, and transportation management staff.Â Maintain total ownership of all aspects of non-primary carrier spending.
Responsible for compliance with CBI sustainability policies and practices which are economically viable, socially acceptable and environmentally sound through local programs at each location for conservation, energy efficiency, and recycling, which are critical for our operations to achieve tangible environmental results.
Follow safe operating procedures, support safety programs and policies to safeguard personal safety, company property, environmental and team memberâs safety.

Prepare detailed budget for Freight to Customer and international import shipping, both for domestic activity as well as for bulk monitor actual results, and take/direct action to improve implementation when necessary.Â Manage SG&A budget for department.
Managing a minimum of $90 million budget, multiple areas of responsibility, with various organizational interfaces needed as a part of the routine management of the organization.
Advanced (MBA) degree in appropriate discipline preferred
Proven leadership experience managing teams
10+ Years of experience
Equivalent combinations of education and experience is acceptable
Customs Broker License Preferred
