The Director of Global Fulfillment Productivity will be responsible for designing, deploying, and executing the new Value-Creating-Program (VCP) with scalable COE models across the business' global fulfillment network spanning multiple geographies and regions (NA, LATAM, EMEA, APAC). This role will provide thought and tactical leadership to the process and technology pillars within FOF which will drive rapid, sustainable, and scalable fulfillment performance improvements across the globe.
VCP is intended to transform the current logistics organization into a best-in-class fulfillment organization in a scalable and repeatable way to position the business as a world leader and an industry benchmark for fulfillment performance. The program will be integrated across all regions and functions and will help deliver on strategic priorities and business goals through a culture of continuous process and performance improvement.
As part of the VCP, this role will be expected to lead the development, deployment and successful tracking of standardized KPI dashboard across all regions to provide visibility into cost and operational performance, while serving as the SME for establishing CARs and RCAs for underperforming KPI’s in partnership with the regional and functional leads.
The VCP program will be closely tied to the CAPEX program to support the commercial LRP from a fulfillment capability and capacity standpoint. This role will be expected to work with site leads in supporting CAPEX build as well as timely capital appropriation to ensure that ROI savings and commitments are realized.
Fulfillment VCP will be expected to deliver operational cost savings targets while generating long-term value through various performance levers using well-established logistics productivity model developments including LSS, COE, PPE, BPE, SCOR, etc.. This role will be responsible for building both short-term (CY/NY) and long-term (YOY) productivity pipeline for fulfillment organization in partnership with functional and regional logistics leaders in every region.
The Director of Fulfillment Productivity will oversee successful execution of PE/PI projects within the fulfillment network and ensure costs savings are realized by working closely with 3PL, TMO, NVOCC, FF, etc. In partnership with the global and regional finance, this role will also be required to develop CBA and CCA models predicting short-term and long-term cost and service impact of fulfillment decisions around network selection, provider selection, service selection, etc. to the regional and functional fulfillment leads. This director will provide performance consultation to the logistics leadership in each region (regional leads) to continuously improve existing shipping and warehousing (S&W) procedures while identifying new opportunities to reduce costs and improve service.
This role with partner with regional and functional logistics leads in negotiating and managing logistics contracts, prices, volume, terms, and conditions to ensure cost performance is in line with contracted rates across all contracted logistics services and functions. This role will partner with regional and functional logistics leads to manage the productivity aspect of LSRM AND LPRM programs across the network in ensuring service and cost efficiency on a year over year basis
This role will play a leadership role in driving for change and continuous improvement within logistics function and will be expected to identify areas that require improvement, increasing transparency, accuracy, and reliability of information to prevent any surprises-both from a cost and service standpoint.
This role will be responsible for the successful delivery of global productivity targets across all operating regions totaling around $5-$6M per year across global fulfillment network within all regions (NA, LATAM, Pacific, EMEA, and Asia) with IL, S&W, OL, GTM, GTC, PE functions. This role will serve as a solid partner across all functions to ensure process excellence entire fulfillment value chain
This role will provide clear visibility of the performance metrics associated with the VCP through a balanced scorecard and reporting (BSCR) method utilizing operations dashboards and key reporting metrics currently in place. This role will partner closely with global and regional finance leads to make sure program cost savings are validated against annual productivity plan for the fiscal year for executive leadership
The role will be responsible for leveraging well-established fulfillment productivity models such as LSS, COE, PPE to establish a global VCP by developing a solid understanding of the business's fulfillment network in an expedited manner with a focus on critical business and functional processes. This role will be required to lead rapid interventions around underperforming processes requiring cross-functional partnership and collaboration
This role will work with regional and functional logistics leadership as well as internal and external cross-functional partners outside of the supply chain such as IT, AIM (analytics, insights, and measurements), etc. to define the advanced technology platforms (ATPs) and data collaboration (DatCo) tools to enable rapid logistics performance transformation.
This role will be responsible for the current state assessment and future state recommendation of the L&D business and functional process to enable future business goals. This will include participation in future state network design, RPA, IOT, Industry 4.0, fulfillment model selection such as DMFC, RMFC, FOD. This role will be expected to serve as the process and productivity expert when assessing feasibility of these solutions
This role will work closely with our supply chain functions outside L&D including sourcing and planning functions for seamless integration of business or functional process for total supply chain optimization. This role will ensure that the supply chain linkage within the front end and back end organizations is in place and effectively working, as well as in ensuring best practice and system needs are identified, developed, and implemented across the entire supply chain
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering preferably Industrial Engineering OR supply chain management OR Business required
Master’s degree in Engineering and/or Business highly preferred but not required
15+ years of logistics and/or supply chain experience within a CPG/FMCG company majority of which should be within logistics and distribution function – both as an operational leader and as a leader of an enterprise wide productivity or performance excellence program
Prior experience leading LSS/OPEX/Productivity program within Logistics and Distribution function at enterprise level. Global experience with oversight of multiple regions and geographies will be an asset
Prior experience leading development and deployment of a successful enterprise-wide Productivity, OPEX or COE program within a global logistics and distribution organization. Prior exposure to SCOR and BSCR would be a definite asset
Prior track record of successfully designing and deploying productivity programs from scratch which are tied to enterprise value creation within logistics and distribution function.
Must have experience working with third-party consulting providers for scope-specific intervention as well as long-term engagements. The role may be asked to serve as L&D lead to define the business case for TPC engagements and to ensure all TPC engagements yield results and returns as agreed upon within the initial SOW
Prior experience in design and implementation of RPA including rapid current state assessment for prioritizing process/functions with highest returns as well provider selection, user requirement compilation, testing, and installation. Must have experience with top RPA providers as Blue Prism, NICE, Kofax among others.
Thorough understanding of the regional and global logistics functions and the synergies/levers required for maximizing total cost performance
A solid understanding on critical concepts and tools such as Industry 4.0, SCOF, Digital Design and Networks, DSNs within L&D networks. Prior experience working as productivity leader within logistics networks comprising both O&O, L&O, 3PL models.
Prior experience working within an end-to-end logistics and distribution functions including IL, OL, S&W, GTM, GTC among others as well as prior experience working with external service and network providers including FFs, NVOCCs, CBs, MFC among others
Track record of building cost management structure, tools, and strategies from ground up within distribution and logistics function. Equally critical will be demonstrated ability to establish vision and strategy and lead implementation with very aggressive timelines
Prior experience coaching functional and regional leaders around productivity or OPEX program adoption for a steep adoption curve so that the VCP is embedded within L&D operations for sustainable performance improvements.
