The purchase of materials and services for all company operations based on quality, delivery, and price. Manage supply base by following supply chain management guidelines.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Comply with Waterous Company Code of Ethics as well as Purchasing Department Ethical Standards and Guidelines.
Award purchase orders in a timely manner from approved requisitions for materials and services with respect to quality, delivery, and price.
Enter requisitions and purchase orders for production sample parts as required.
Reduce total supply chain costs by reviewing all facets of purchased materials, item cost, freight, optimized lot sizes etc. and identifying and implementing cost reductions, negotiating blanket orders, and coordinating potential design/manufacturing suggestions from supplier with Waterous departments (Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, etc.).
Manage supply base to ensure on time delivery of parts and services. Monitor and analyze supplier performance per Supply Chain Management guidelines. Conduct supplier reviews as necessary.
Actively participate in cross-functional teams related to new product development and process improvements.
Obtain price estimate and lead times for Sales and Engineering as required.
Coordinate supplier tooling for assigned suppliers. Maintain tooling records, generate requests for new tooling, prepare capital requests, and route requests to scrap obsolete tooling as required.
Assist in resolving receiving and invoicing discrepancies.
Keep current with economic, industrial, and political trends to anticipate market trends relative to materials and services cost and availability.
Participate in Supplier Evaluation Teams to qualify new suppliers.
Bachelor’s degree preferred, ideally in Supply Chain Management
Prior Manufacturing/Industrial Purchasing or Supply Chain experience
Certified Professional in Supply Chain Management (CPSM) desirable
Working knowledge of Material Requirements Planning (MRP)
Experience in major cost reduction/alternate sourcing efforts
Ability to read and understand drawings and material specifications
Demonstrated negotiation skills
Knowledge of ISO, SCM and Quality Systems (QS)
Up to 20% travel
Ability to work and visit production areas in a safe manner
