The College of Business at Stony Brook University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor in Operations Management and Decision Analytics, starting Fall 2022. We consider candidates who graduated from an accredited Ph.D. program in Operations Management, Management Science, Operations Research, Business Analytics, Decision Analytics, Industrial Engineering, Statistics, or other related disciplines.
The responsibilities of this position include: (1) maintaining an active research agenda that results in publications in top-tier academic journals and other intellectual contributions (e.g., conference presentations and external grants), (2) teaching undergraduate and graduate courses related to operations management and decision analytics, and (3) participating in the College of Business administrative and committee assignments (e.g., assurance of learning and AACSB accreditation, organizing research seminars) and providing service to the Stony Brook University community.
The Operations Management and Decision Analytics area at the Stony Brook College of Business includes faculty with diverse research interests and backgrounds. Candidates should demonstrate an excellent research record or have the potential to publish in top-tier business journals, preferably with an interdisciplinary focus. We are interested in various research agendas, including service and manufacturing systems, healthcare operations, sustainable and socially responsible operations, supply chain, humanitarian logistics, performance measurement, and other business applications of optimization, machine learning, stochastic, or econometric modeling. We are especially interested in candidates with a research focus that can contribute to the College of Business's initiative toward designing graduate programs in Decision Analytics.
Candidates must demonstrate or provide a clear potential for excellent teaching in undergraduate and graduate courses related to the Operations Management and Decision Analytics area. The candidate should expect to contribute to our current programs, and our proposed graduate program in Decision Analytics by offering and designing new courses.
