Abbott is seeking a Freight Payables Coordinator in our Abbott Park location. Under general supervision, the Freight Payables Coordinator will produce and review freight invoices and payment reports for accuracy and completeness. Support the operational goals of the Freight Payables program. Respond to business unit and freight carrier inquiries, escalating to management when necessary.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Collaborate with third-party vendor and freight carriers to correct issues for proper billing and timely payments; analyze the daily error queue.
Verify invoice ownership and code accounts for processing. Investigate incorrect account codes and incoterms.
Perform quality control, taking appropriate action where needed, to identify incorrect billing trends or other carrier related issues.
Communicate with internal stakeholders where invoices require additional approvals for audit or excessive charges.
Communicate with external stakeholders when additional information is required.
Reject invoices when needed; primarily resolving ownership issues, incomplete documentation, and incorrect incoterms.
Monitor compliance with applicable corporate and divisional policies and procedures.
Support relationships and engage in effective communications with freight carriers.
Support intra-departmental process improvements, participate on multi-functional or multi-divisional teams and projects.
Support monthly and annual reconciliation activities; verify SAP data and reconcile all company codes and divisions.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU'LL BRING
Associate's degree in a Finance related field or Supply Chain Management; or 60+ hours of post-secondary education is required.
1-3 years of Freight Payables, Logistics, Supply Chain or other Finance experience in a large decentralized organization.
Advanced Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
SAP Financials or other enterprise financial system.
