We are seeking an innovative Senior Data Engineer who has a proven track record of building enterprise level platform components to support product development from multiple teams and lines of business. This role is expected to accelerate innovation by building platforms for our Data Science and Engineering teams to utilize. The team is embarking on a journey of building a brand-new data lake platform being built on top of a cloud-based platform utilizing the latest tech stacks. Ideal technologies for this individual to have experience in, would be Kubernetes, Azure or (AWS), Terraform, Helm, Kafka, Python, and Linux. This is an individual contributor role but you are expected to demonstrate leadership and mentor other team members.
• Build and operate our cloud-based data platform. • Utilize container-based technologies to help support a microservice based architecture. • Create Declarative Jenkins Pipelines to automate builds and deployments. • Implement Git Flow ideals to foster better CI/CD. • Build new Terraform modules and deployments. • Build new Helm Charts. • Manage and maintain our Kubernetes clusters. • Assist Data Engineers with K8s/Cloud development and deployments. • Build and maintain Central Logging and Metrics. • Work within an Agile/Scrum model. • Build and maintain internal Docker images. • Build Python modules to assist in automation, configuration and/or setup efforts. • Participate in a collaborative, peer-review based environment fostering new ideas via cross team guilds / specialty groups. • Maintain comprehensive documentation around our processes / decision making.
Minimum of an Associates Degree.
Bachelor's Degree in Computer science or related field, preferred.
Minimum of 7 years of related information technology experience with a minimum of 3 years of strong experience directly related to cloud technologies.
Industry recognized certifications a plus: ASA (Azure Solutions Architect) and/or CKA (Certified Kubernetes Administrator), a plus.
Deep familiarity with PaaS services, containers, orchestrations specifically around Docker and Kubernetes.
Proven success with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC).
Demonstrated experience with the Scrum Agile methodology.
Strong ability to learn new technologies in a short time.
Must possess well-developed verbal and written communication skills.
Previous experience at a fortune 500 company, a plus.
