Pregis is seeking to hire an experienced Purchasing Manager to continue building and improving the shared service infrastructure across procurement, vendor relations, and cost reduction.
The ideal candidate will possess: (1) experience in a manufacturing company of relevant size and complexity; (2) expertise in procurement, materials management, and transportation with experience in end-to-end supply chain in a business with B2B relationships and dependence on commodity supply; and; (3) a distinctive track record of leading significant operational change and financial results across an enterprise that optimizes, cost, quality, and service.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Provide leadership for procurement, and integrated supply chain planning operations – including the optimization and management of strategies, facilities, processes, suppliers, metrics, and personnel to deliver high customer service and order fulfillment at lowest total system cost.
- Build relationships with world class service partners, drive a culture of efficiency and compliance, and engineer a supply network to meet the growing service and financial expectations of the company.
- Provide consistent communications and performance reporting for all stakeholders. Manage a small team of buyers sourcing 8000+ SKU’s in support of a $350M operation.
- Work with the broader Production, Quality, and Engineering departments to develop processes and systems for network optimization, inventory control, and SKU rationalization.
- Leverage use of SAP, MRP, WMS and related technologies and infrastructure to drive business value.
- Oversee and execute process changes, improvement opportunities and technology upgrades, maintaining delivery accuracy and customer service levels as the organization grows and further integrates.
- Act as a catalyst and champion for process improvement and other strategic initiatives, driving change throughout the Supply Chain and across the organization.
- Partner regularly with senior management, finance, vendors, and third-party providers to ensure solutions are understood and adopted.

Required Education, Experience and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or Supply Chain preferred.
- 7 – 10 years of supply chain/purchasing and management experience.
- SAP Experience preferred.
- Skilled in Six Sigma, LEAN, TPS, or similar business system.
