REQ 196                                                      Purchasing Manager

 General Dynamics - Applied Physical Sciences is seeking an experienced full-time Purchasing Manager. 

 Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain Management or related field is preferred, as well as 5 or more years of supply chain procurement experience working for a Department of Defense contractor, including experience overseeing or participating in Contractor Purchasing System Reviews (CPSRs).  Computer skills (Microsoft Word and Excel, PowerPoint) a must.  Excellent communication, telephone, interpersonal and organizational skills necessary. Must be able to work well under pressure.  Deltek Costpoint experience is a plus, as is an understanding Mechanical/Electrical engineering concepts. Familiarity with FAR, DFARS, and other purchasing related Federal regulations.

 Job Functions:

• Manage the daily activities of the purchasing function
• Negotiate with vendors/suppliers for best price using cost/price and best value analysis
• Ensure terms and conditions address provisions and risks of financial terms, acceptance criteria, delivery requirements, warranty, intellectual property, termination provisions, indemnification, and all other potential risk areas
• Ensure terms and conditions have been properly flowed down from customer contracts to supplier contracts
• Expedite deliveries when necessary
• Resolve any quantity/quality/delivery issues that may arise with vendors/suppliers
• Train employee requisitioners on purchasing processes
• Work closely with Accounts Payable
• Maintain documentation to comply with US government regulations and company purchasing policies and procedures
• Take on a lead role in any CPSR and support other external DCMA/DCAA audits
• Perform other administrative duties as may be required
