Position Brand Description:
The Commercialization Sourcing Associate in the Global Procurement organization is responsible for the transition of drug product manufacturing from clinical trial to commercial phase and post commercial expansion to support supply expansion/risk mitigation in Device and Parenteral Manufacturing Networks, supporting broader procurement activities within the External Drug Product Manufacturing category, and ensuring alignment between the Procurement & its business clients in the Development and Manufacturing organizations.
Key Objectives/Deliverables:

Execute procurement activities and provide leadership in the outsourcing of drug product manufacturing to establish a high quality cost effective supply chain that results in a reliable and predictable external supply chain in alignment with both the development and commercial business strategies.

Collaborate with the technical and quality organizations as part of the tech transfer process to ensure timely project completion, establish appropriately scaled commercial production, and deliver competitive durable commercial production costs.

Support the Category Leader for External Drug Product Manufacturing in broader execution within procurement category.

Develop, execute, and maintain supplier strategy for assigned categories from category strategy development through sourcing, supplier selection, contract negotiation, contract management, risk management, and cost management.

Maintain sourcing strategies, spend analytics, and external market knowledge for external drug product manufacturing.

Understand clinical trial and commercial business strategy (make versus buy), governance processes (transactional versus strategic), and operational requirements. Work directly and closely with commercial manufacturing functional leadership, manufacturing site functions, and governance teams to ensure continuity of supply while maintaining an efficient cost effective supply chain.

Manage supplier relationships with key global suppliers to establish and maintain relationships, influence the continuity of a reliable continuous supply chain, and establish or maintain an efficient cost effective supply chain. This includes leadership of both the executive and operational level governance programs which require interaction with high level management and technical resources internal and external to Lilly.

Facilitate delivery of development pipeline, ensure reliability of commercially manufactured products, and perform risk mitigation activities from assessment of risk through development of risk mitigation strategies and implementation to execution of the annual supplier risk management process.
Basic Requirements:
-
Bachelor’s degree in scientific, engineering, business, supply chain, procurement or other professional field

1 to 3 years of experience in procurement, external supply or manufacturing of relevant materials, or internal pharmaceutical manufacturing (operations, technical service/material science, etc.)

Previous experience working directly with suppliers in commercial, technical, or governance capacity

Previous negotiation experience

Previous SAP or Ariba procurement experience

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, and PowerPoint

Previous experience representing the business in the acquisition of goods or services.

This is a full time position. Flexibility to support sites in multiple time zones is required.

Travel percentage: 10%, International travel is required.
