This position oversees and manages the purchase of all materials, hardware, supplies, equipment, and outside services required to support operations as efficiently and economically as possible. This position is responsible for overall supply chain operations, including purchasing, receiving, inventory management, and selection of outside vendors. The position will manage and develop a team of tactical buyers in the areas of purchasing, materials and logistics.
• Accountable to the creation, issuing, and tracking purchase orders to raw material vendors, component suppliers, and outside service vendors to complete full bill of material. • Responsible for managing large bill of materials to maintain working capital liquidity while maintaining sufficient inventory levels to complete jobs per the production schedule. • Implement processes and controls to identify potential vendor delays and find solutions before production is negatively impacted. • Implement best practices in Purchasing to enhance cost control measures and improve supplier On Time Delivery. • Collaborate with planning, operations, and management on the status of incoming parts and services and how it might impact production planning and customer communications. • Serves as the main point of contact for suppliers regarding all commercial, quality, and technical data correspondences. • Negotiate and implement 3PL stocking and supply chain solutions. • Develop network of third-party services (machining, welding, plating) to help facilitate optimized production planning. • Establish, track and report performance metrics related to the supply chain function. • Responsible for continuous improvements within the supply chain function. • Manage supplier relationships and develop partnerships by allocating business to select suppliers that provide the highest quality products with a history of on-time delivery at reasonable costs.
• 5 years of purchasing experience in manufacturing environment • Strong analytical skills, computer skills, and math skills • Must be proficient in all Microsoft office applications • Experience working in AS9100 quality environment • Experience working with ERP systems • Experience in aerospace, automotive or mechanical manufacturing environment
