York College, founded in 1966, is a center of academic excellence in the heart of Jamaica, Queens. York???s academic programs are housed in three schools: The School of Arts & Sciences, The School of Business and Information Systems, and The School of Health Sciences and Professional Studies. Over sixty baccalaureate programs from across a variety of disciplines, including accounting, aviation management, business, computer science, journalism, social work, teacher education, a dual BS/MS degree in Occupational Therapy, and one of the top-ranked nursing programs in New York State, provide students with opportunities to study liberal arts, sciences, and professional programs. The college also offers five graduate programs: Aviation Management, Clinical Trials Management, Pharmaceutical Science and Business, Physician Assistant, and Social Work.
Located in Queens, the most ethnically diverse county in New York State, the college enrolls 7,000 students from over 95 nations. Nine out of ten students are members of a racial/ethnic minority group, and more than half of undergraduates are the first in their families to pursue higher education.
The 50-acre campus encompasses seven buildings, including science and computer labs, music and television studios, a Performing Arts Center, and a Physical Education Center. It recently completed seven major constructions projects, with more scheduled for the future. In addition, its neighborhood is at the center of a renaissance fueled by economic revitalization.

The School of Business and Information Systems at York College/CUNY invites applications for a fulltime tenure-track faculty position in the Department of Business and Economics in the area of Informatics, Information Systems, at the Assistant Professor rank beginning Fall 2023.
York College is located in Queens, one of the five boroughs of New York City and one of the most ethnically diverse counties in the nation. It is a senior college within the City University of New York and is situated on a 50-acre campus in the heart of the Downtown Jamaica section of the borough.
The individual hired for this position will teach basic and advanced courses in at least four of the following fields: Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Logistics Management, E-Business Technology, Procurement Management, Strategic Cost Management, Enterprise Resource Planning, International Supply Chain Management, Supply Chain Modeling, Material and Inventory Control, and Transportation Management.
The successful candidate will also conduct research leading to publication in peer-reviewed journals in their field of specialization; provide service to the College, including student advisement and service on Department and college committees, and assist with curriculum components. Teaching assignments will include evenings and weekends.
Additionally, the successful candidate will:
??? Be effective in teaching methods for assigned courses.
??? Assist students with course advising and individual mentoring.
??? Work on curriculum development as part of the normal workload.
??? Be a team player who seeks to enhance the business program with an emphasis on improving and ensuring the program???s relevancy in the marketplace
??? Carry out any administrative tasks assigned as part of the normal workload.
??? Fulfill bargaining unit workload requirements with equivalent administrative work.
??? Serve as a resource for the College by participating in service work related to various department and college committees, professional societies and community organizations.
??? Encourage and support student involvement in student organizations and internships
??? Maintain relevant relationships with the Business community
Performs teaching, research and guidance duties in area(s) of expertise. Shares responsibility for committee and department assignments including administrative, supervisory, and other functions.
Candidates will be required to provide proof of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 upon commencing employment. Exemption (medical or religious) requests to this requirement will be considered in accordance with applicable law. Being fully vaccinated is defined for this purpose as being at least two weeks past their final dose of an authorized COVID-19 vaccine regimen. Final candidates must be fully vaccinated as of their first day of employment.
Ph.D. degree in area(s) of experience or equivalent. Also required are the ability to teach successfully, demonstrated scholarship or achievement, and ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution.
(1) A Doctorate in Operations Management, Logistics, Supply Chain Management (or a closely related field) from a regionally accredited university
(2) Teaching experience at the college level
(3) Demonstrated scholarship or achievement
(4) The ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution
The following qualifications are highly preferred:
(1) Work experience in the field, or a related field
(2) Abilities, skills and enthusiasm consistent with teaching excellence and instructional innovation in the area of Operations Management and/or Logistics and Supply Chain Management

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Health Plan Coverage for Employees Hired on or after October 1, 2022 City of New York employees and employees of Participating Employers and their eligible dependents hired on or after October 1, 2022 will only be eligible to enroll in the EmblemHealth HIP HMO Preferred Plan and must remain in the HIP HMO Preferred Plan for the first year (365 days) of employment.
After 365 days of employment, the employee will have the option of either remaining in the HIP HMO Preferred Plan or selecting a different health plan within 30 days before the end of the 365th day period.
If a new health plan is selected, the new plan will be effective on the 366th day.
Only after the 365th day can the employee participate in any Annual Fall Transfer Period. An employee who needs to request an exemption from the required enrollment in the HIP HMO Preferred Plan can do so by submitting a HIP HMO Opt-Out Request Form to EmblemHealth. An employee, or eligible dependent, must meet certain criteria and the request must be approved by EmblemHealth before the exemption is granted. The HIP HMO Opt-Out Request Form and HIP service area are available on the EmblemHealth website.
The salary range for this appointment is $67,784 - $107,789
