Rockline is recruiting an experienced sourcing professional to support our flexible film sourcing needs. This is a great opportunity to showcase your skills and tenacity by working with mature and dynamic products within an exciting, fast moving CPG market. This position will allow you to partner across Product Management, Product Development, Operations, and Engineering teams to implement sourcing best practices to meet delivery, quality, and pricing requirements of our flexible film materials. This includes but is not limited to identifying suppliers, preparing RFQ's, leading negotiations, reviewing and writing contracts/agreements, managing internal and external relationships, and keeping current with ever changing market conditions and competition. This position is an individual contributor role, not a managerial role.
Position is open to remote work options that would include approximately 20-25% travel. If you prefer to work onsite, office locations are in Sheboygan, WI; or Springdale, AR, and the amount of travel needed would be reduced to approximately 10-15%.
Key functions of this role include:
Develops comprehensive and dynamic sourcing strategies; effectively supports business unit strategy with a focus on delivering business needs; and effectively communicates an executive summary of the category strategy to business unit owners & executives.
Mentors others on category strategy development
Selects the strategic and non-strategic suppliers who can meet best net value, product development, innovation, and competitiveness requirements. Identifies innovative opportunities and communicates to Stakeholders.
Develops and manages supplier base for global solutions. Leads supplier discussions on cost reduction, risk mitigation, and value improvement. Completes category analysis on price and cost, supplier comparison, and market and industry trends.
Understands the global markets by staying abreast of new dynamics and developing a source of market intelligence.
Supports internal and external customers in the development of commercial terms with suppliers, problem-solving, pricing matrix, supply chain optimization, resolving raw material quality issues, completing and communication of supplier performance reviews
Develops, coordinates, and negotiates long-term supply strategies, supply agreements, and contracts.
Develops industry, product, and supply base knowledge, including key cost drivers. Becomes an expert on the marketplace, supply sources, and competition.
Leads and influences projects with solid project management skills
Requirements and skills needed for this role:
We are hiring for either Sourcing Manager II or Senior Sourcing Manager. Please see the requirements for both positions below.
Sourcing Manager II: Six (6) years of strategic sourcing experience or experience in a related discipline. Senior Sourcing Manager: Ten (10) years of strategic sourcing or experience in a related discipline sourcing role will be required. Previous experience with sourcing printed flexible films is strongly preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or related is required. MBA preferred. CPSM, CPIM or C.P.M. preferred. For Sourcing Manager II:May consider years of experience and education in lieu of degree.

Ability to perform market and industry trend analysis, evaluate supply sources, and assist customers by identifying solutions to their needs.
Ability to analyze data and make recommendations and appropriate business decisions.
Ability to perform market surveys and to analyze cost and pricing data
Ability to apply mathematical and statistical concepts and modeling techniques to evaluate alternatives and provide recommendations
Ability to create a cost model
Ability to plan negotiation strategies and effectively negotiate terms and conditions
Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks and meet impending deadlines
Ability to perform timely & effective RFQ/RFP preparation & analysis
Ability to write and comprehend complex contracts/agreements
Ability to effectively collaborate and build relationships with other departments and suppliers
Ability to mentor and develop associates on Sourcing best practices
Excellent knowledge of contract law & Uniform Commercial Code (UCC)
A strong background in manufacturing
A high-energy, self-motivated individual that can develop and implement strategies
Strong analytical and persuasive skills and the ability to articulate thoughts and sell ideas to a diverse group
Ability to lead by developing consensus and igniting action in others
Negotiates with a high level of discretion, and in situations that are of high complexity, and have a high business impact.
Must be able to travel independently nationally and internationally; up to 10% travel may be required
Preferred Skills and Experience:
Flexible packaging technical knowledge (i.e. an understanding of various resins, film compositions, and film Technical Data Sheets)
Print technology knowledge (i.e. an understanding of various types of printing, pros/cons of each, and the graphics process)
Flexible packaging industry experience (i.e. industry knowledge of markets, trends, an understanding of resin markets and related price drivers)
