Project Inventory Production Leader (Job Number: 2300110 )
Position Summary:
Provide operation floor level support to Penske's client's internal materials group within their manufacturing plant to successfully deliver parts lineside. This includes supporting the client's hourly material handling associates in their daily mission to achieve high standards of safety, quality, delivery and cost in all areas of the operation.
Penske's client's internal material team is accountable for ensuring sequenced material is received, and delivered line side to the assembly line in conjunction with their lean principles. They are also responsible for ensuring inventory accuracy throughout those processes.
The onsite Penske Project Leader is accountable for supporting all client material flow activities on the operations floor including the coordination of activities with various process partners including materials teams, and assembly and support operations. To be successful in this role the Project Leader must provide effective daily shift communication between Penske and client contacts.
The Project Leader is also accountable to help drive continuous improvement through the executing of lean events and activities potentially involving both Penske and client personnel. They must also "champion" lean through daily delivery in lean tools and methodologies including root cause analysis with corrective actions.
POSITION DETAILS:
Salary: $65,000 - $70,000

Responsibilities:
Operations supporting material delivery processes and improvements ensuring successful safety, quality, delivery, and cost in all processes (approx. 60% of time)
Lean implementation - Use lean tools and methodologies to drive continuous improvement projects related to improving material management and material flow (approx. 40% of time)
Communication liaison between Penske's internal team sequencing parts and client materials team
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
-1 to 2 years of Project Management experience preferably in a manufacturing or a supply chain operations environment
-Bachelor's degree preferred. In lieu of degree, 1-3 years of supervisory experience
-Project Management and/or lean certification a plus
-Strong analytical skills, written/oral communication and organizational skills are required as the position
will have frequent internal and client communication and presentation
-Highly organized and self-motivated individual with a strong work ethic
-Proven computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint. Experience with Google programs and SAP preferred
-Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
-Willingness to work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening are required.
