In the Sr. Transportation Optimization Analyst role you are responsible for the movement of goods through the North America Supply Chain. Product, supplies and non-merchandise needs to flow from vendors to distribution centers, stores and consumers, on time and in full. This is a leadership role that contributes to the strategy, design and execution of the North America Supply Chain.
This position will work Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm. This role can be either remote or a hybrid role out of one of our Distribution Centers in Junction City, KS, Camp Hill, PA or Reno, NV.
Position Functions:
This position will require a high level of analytical skills in addition to strong business and financial acumen to plan and execute operational strategies across the N.A. Supply Chain to meet or exceed cost and service goals.
Performs analysis using internal reporting, freight payment, routing tool, and other databases to determine underlying cause of freight cost & service trends.
Participates in carrier rate negotiations and proposal evaluation for all modes.
Participates in business & scorecard reviews with carriers and other logistics partners
Evaluates inbound freight flow and seeks areas of opportunity to improve efficiency, visibility, and cost.
Follows market trends to educate and make recommendations to internal stakeholders
The candidate will also need to have excellent communication skills, a high attention detail, be able to operate with limited supervision, and manage multiple competing priorities.
Root cause analysis on unexpected variances / issues with recommendations to business leaders.
Demonstrate ability to work on teams as well as independently with minimal supervision.
Ability to handle multiple high priority projects and maintain day to day needs of the teams this position supports.
Assist with projects and analyses to support new business initiatives as needed.
Position Requirements
Minimum 4-7 years’ experience in transportation, supply chain, logistics planning or related fields.
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Logistics, Operations Management, Business Industrial Engineering, or related field or equivalent years of work-related experience.
Comprehensive experience working with Microsoft Office including Excel and Word.
Previous knowledge of automated DC Systems and Manhattan Associates Warehouse Management (WMoS) preferred.
