The University of Tennessee, Haslam College of Business invites applications and nominations for a tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor position in its Department of Supply Chain Management (SCM). Applicants will be expected to have expertise in a SCM-related function (e.g., purchasing, logistics, operations management) and be willing to work effectively in a department that places significant emphasis on cross-functional interaction and integration both within and outside of traditional supply chain areas. The applicant's research program should reflect the potential for ongoing thought leadership in the discipline. Duties include conducting research, teaching business-oriented supply chain classes, and conducting departmental service assignments. The position is open in terms of expertise/interest, but significant emphasis will be placed on the ability of the individual to drive research that is impactful to theory and practice. The Knoxville campus of the University of Tennessee is seeking to fill the position with a candidate who can contribute in meaningful ways to the diversity and intercultural goals of the University.

· Successful Candidates for Assistant Professor rank for this position will have:
o An earned Ph.D. (at time of appointment) with a major in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a closely related field.
o Evidence-based record of increasing peer-reviewed publications and presentations, and a growing record of excellent teaching and undergraduate mentoring.
o Evidence of excellent research, quantitative, and communication skills with an appreciation for both theoretical and applied knowledge.
o The ability to communicate effectively to diverse audience including faculty, undergraduate and graduate students, and industry professionals.
o An ability to contribute meaningfully to the diversity and intercultural goals of the University, especially experience working with diverse students and the ability to contribute to fostering diversity and inclusion within the University community.
· Successful Candidates for Associate Professor rank for this position will – in addition to the above – have:
o Evidence of an established research agenda within the Supply Chain Management field
o Evidence of successful doctoral student and junior faculty mentoring
o Established record of service at the department, college, and discipline levels
