What's the role: Bloomberg is seeking an individual to join our APAC Supply Chain Compliance team. This individual will be part of an exciting and dynamic team supporting over 35+ jurisdictions. International trade laws/regulations are constantly changing and create a fast paced and exciting opportunity to work in this environment for the right individual. The Trade Compliance function collaborates across all areas of the Bloomberg Enterprise and is situated to provide value to our Business Partners, both internal and external.

We'll trust you to:
Lead strategic projects and support ongoing operations for trade compliance to operate efficiently in APAC
Proactively identify opportunities and drive system and process improvements to improve efficiency
Actively communicate with various Regulatory Agencies/Authorities across the APAC Region
Ensure Bloomberg's compliance with various jurisdictional import/export controls, with a particular emphasis on North Asia
Work on different trade compliance processes including Classification Assignments (Harmonized System and Export Control Numbers); Customs Valuation; import/export licensing-permitting across the APAC Region; Indirect Taxes (VAT/GST); Carnets; Country of Origin determinations
Manage Bloomberg system, SAP/GTS for monitoring & control for all export/import activities under the company
Support/enhance Bloomberg Hong Kong Approval-in-Principle program and TID audit processes. Trade-related data management, import/export records management for the sub-regions, for management reporting and for internal/external audits purpose
Responsible for SOP and internal procedures in line with both regulatory and business practices
Work in a culturally and geographically diverse setting and collaborate effectively across all Business Units and levels of the Bloomberg Enterprise
Be a proactive team player but be able to work independently and escalate concerns appropriately. Willing to learn and adapt to high pressure situations
Maintain a high level of responsibility and integrity
Develop a thorough understanding of the Bloomberg Legal Entity structure and its impact on Trade Compliance operations
You'll need to have:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent technical qualification and/or equivalent experience
7-10 years of experience in International Trade. Experience include Trade Compliance; Logistics; Freight Forwarding; Sanctions Management; and/or Customs Brokerage or related industries. Bloomberg is expecting a minimum of five (5) years' direct Trade Compliance experience
Familiar with Hong Kong and China import/export law and regulation
Familiar with international transactions, customs/export operations, general cargo and sensitive commodities, global cross-border transactions and customs operations and tax policies
Proficiency in English and Mandarin
Possess solid interpersonal and computer skills, including but not limited to: Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
We'd love to see:
Previous experience in Information Technology, Telecommunications/Networking hardware/software
Knowledge of Product Conformity Standards
Working knowledge of SAP GTS or other similar ERP system
Working knowledge of United States ("U.S.") Export Law and Regulations (Bureau of Industry and Security) and U.S. Sanctions controls
Working knowledge of encryption/cryptography, as it relates to import/export controls
