Supply Chain Management is responsible for providing the continuous flow of supplies and services required by UC Davis Medical Center. This includes the acquisition of everything from supplies and medical instrumentation used in providing patient care to the equipment and parts needed to operate and maintain the health system's physical plant. Our main objective is to place the right item, at the right place, at the right time. Distribution Services is responsible for maintaining inventories, receiving, stocking, storing, issuing, distributing equipment, and transportation of the supplies and linen to meet the needs of the medical center.

Responsibilities
The PRIMARY function of this position is exchanging carts for medical/surgical supplies & linen. This position provides support for the unit's mission in accomplishing daily tasks and responsibilities which relate to above mentioned services. Supply Hospital Units/Patients with inventory, stocking/storing, issuing equipment/linens for patient need.
Required Qualifications
Knowledge of cost-effective materiel management functions of warehousing, purchasing, distribution methods, supply techniques, processing functions and product liability is required of this position.
Knowledge and use of basic mathematical calculations; addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Skills for accurate calculations of inventory replenishment, weight, units of measure, and package counts are essential.
Experience in maintaining multiple filing systems, records, and logistical information is required in this position.
Ability to read and write English well enough to comprehend and convey instructions on invoices, shipping documents, control logs, inventory sheets, and other correspondence is a necessity to this position.
Possess interpersonal skills to relate complicated systems and ideas to diverse audience. This includes maintaining professional demeanor to work accurately and quickly under pressure while handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
Knowledge and understanding of policies and procedures applicable to the receiving and processing of hospital supply-related materials are extremely important to this position.
Knowledge of functions related to hospital supply activities is required. This includes distribution logistics, proper documentation, weights and units of measure, and policies and procedures related to product dispersal.
Preferred Qualifications
Background in computerized as well as hard-copy information systems is strongly desired.
Knowledge of University policies, procedures and standards which apply to hospital supply operations, is strongly desired.
Special Requirements
Hospital Environment
Must be physically capable of lifting 50 pounds unassisted; push/pull/maneuver 600 lb. carts in tight spaces; stamina to stand for prolonged periods.
This position may be subject to a criminal background investigation, drug screen, Live Scan fingerprinting, medical evaluation clearance, and functional capacity assessment.
