Job Description
Basic Function:BASIC FUNCTION:

The successful candidate will be deliver lecture instruction across a range of Business Administration courses with a specialization in Logistics. Courses may include Principles of Logistics, Freight Claims, Contracts, Warehouse Management, Transportation and Traffic Management, Purchasing and Supply Management, and International Logistics. The role also involves building and maintaining strong professional relationships with diverse partners in education, government, and industry. The candidate will also develop curriculum, assess student/program learning outcomes, and engage in professional development. Teaching assignments may include day, evening, online, hybrid, weekend, and/or off campus classes.
Education:EDUCATION:
Master's in business, business management, business administration, accountancy, finance, marketing or business education OR

Bachelor's in any of the above AND Master's in economics, personnel management, public administration, or Juris Doctor Degree (J.D.) or Legum Baccalaureus (LL.B.) OR

Bachelor's in economics with a business emphasis AND Master's in personnel management, public administration, or Juris Doctor Degree (J.D.) or Legum Baccalaureus (LL.B.)

OR the equivalent

Note: 18 graduate level units in Logistics or Supply Chain technology required.

(All degrees and units used to satisfy minimum qualifications shall be from accredited institutions.)
Experience:EXPERIENCE:
1. Minimum of five (5) years of managerial experience in Logistics and/or Supply Chain management required.
2. Minimum three (3) years of post-secondary level teaching experience or five (5) years equivalent corporate training experience required.

- The ideal candidate will exhibit teaching competence in one the following areas of specialization in the field of Business Administration, to include supervision, ethics, and fundamentals of business administration. Experience with assessment of student learning outcomes is highly desired. Strong commitment to maintaining currency in the field is required, including updating of curriculum. A commitment to outreach and participation in campus related business administration events is required, as well as business administration club activities. Interest in assisting students through the Norco College guided pathways is desirable.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Recent experience teaching logistics, business administration, or a related field at the post-secondary level, with relevant educational or instructional preparation.
2. Ability to effectively teach logistics, business administration and related courses at the community college level.
3. Strong understanding of the community college mission and the diverse needs of its student population.
4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, colleagues, and industry partners.
5. Commitment to student success, including the ability to engage and motivate learners from diverse backgrounds
6. Proven record of student success in logistics and business administration instruction, as well as participation in student success initiatives in post-secondary settings.
7. Experience in curriculum development, including non-credit programs and pathway development.
8. Willingness to develop new courses and enhance existing curriculum.
9. Demonstrated ability to contribute to department, division, and college committees, as well as participate in shared governance at Norco College.
10. Experience with online and hybrid teaching methods including proficiency with instructional technology such as the Canvas learning management system.
11. Ability to design and implement instructional strategies.
12. Experience collaborating with industry partners and participating in workforce development initiatives.
13. Proficiency with Materials Requirements Planning (MRP) software, as well as Microsoft Office and Google tools
14. Practical experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), SAP, and cloud-based logistics systems.
15. Willingness to serve as an Advisory Board member for an educational institution.
16. Willingness to participate as a board member in industry-related associations (e.g. logistics, distribution, management, supply chain).
17. Experience in marketing academic and career programs to local businesses, industries, and prospective students within the community.
18. Recent experience working with historically underserved students, with an understanding of historical patterns of exclusion within higher education and the field of logistics influence student participation and outcomes.
19. Willingness to critically assess and refine instructional and classroom practices to better engage and support historically underserved students.
20. Experience and expertise in addressing equity issues in the classroom.
21. Proficiency in culturally responsive teaching practices.
22. Knowledge of the implications of Norco College's Hispanic-Serving Institution (HIS) designation and its impact on institutional, departmental, and instructional practices.

Preferred Licenses/Certifications:
Industry certifications or licenses such as Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), Certified Production and Inventory Management (CPIM), Certified Logistics Associate (CLA), Certified Logistics Technical (CLT), Custom House Broker (CHB) or equivalent credentials.

1. Ten-month, tenure-track position.
2. Salary is commensurate with academic preparation, and full-time teaching or equivalent experience with a range from Column C, Step 1 to Column H, Step 6 of the current Faculty Salary Schedule.
3. Medical and dental benefits are provided for the employee and legal dependents.
4. A $50,000 life insurance policy is provided for the employee.
5. Orientation to college is required as is adherence to Improvement of Instruction policy.
6. Maintaining broad knowledge of the academic or occupational area and design pedagogy related to learning outcomes is expected.
