Position Summary
The University at Buffalo School of Management is an official awardee of the New York Semiconductor Manufacturing and Research Technology Innovation Corridor Tech Hub initiative. The NY SMART I-Corridor Tech Hub seeks to shift the trajectory of Upstate New York via the formation of a globally leading semiconductor cluster which designs and delivers semiconductor solutions for the region, the nation, and the world. The Supply Chain Activation Network (SCAN) subcomponent works to expand the participation of new and existing businesses in the region as suppliers to the semiconductor industry. The goal is to promote inclusive economic growth in the region and the development of a diverse and resilient supply chain for the semiconductor industry.
The Center for Supply Chain Analytics (CSCA) leads UBs contribution to the SCAN project and seeks a Project Manager to join our team and engage the regions small and medium-sized enterprises that have the potential to participate in the semiconductor supply chain.
The project managers primary responsibilities will be to execute specific components of the SCAN project, including presenting to audiences, meeting with business owners and managers to help them find their place in the semiconductor industry, documenting supplier capabilities and buyer needs, and facilitating matchmaking. The position will include travel within upstate New York, primarily within the I-90 corridor, as well as some domestic and possibly international travel. The project manager also supervises one or more graduate student assistants who contribute to development of informational resources, such as capability statements, a web-based dashboard, and industry-facing guidebooks.
The Center for Supply Chain Analytics is a growing entity responsible for multiple grant-funded and industry-sponsored initiatives. This position has the potential to grow along with the Center, including opportunities for grant writing and administration, research, and network-building.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as point of contact for industry partners seeking entry into the SCAN industry dashboard and technical assistance program.
Collaborate with the CSCA directors, project partners, and external stakeholders.
Support and mentor graduate student assistants.
Track and report activity, milestones, outcomes, and other performance metrics.

Minimum Qualifications
Minimum of a Bachelors in Management, Engineering, Economics, or a related field, with at least 3 years of experience in a professional role.
Experience in business development, industry partnerships, and/or economic development.
Familiarity with survey design, administration, data cleaning, and analysis.
Ability to conduct informational interviews, document findings, perform qualitative data analysis, and develop case studies.
Proven independence and initiative.
Strong attention to detail and the capability to work with a high degree of accuracy.
Proficiency in MS Office programs.
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced degree in an appropriate field.
Specialization or demonstrated interest in strategic decision-making, supply chains, and\or economic development.
Experience working with small to medium-size enterprises, especially in the manufacturing
Familiarity with higher education and/or grants.
Physical Demands
Salary Range $65,000 - $75,000
